There are a number of events (see below) that the SBA host or are involved with, the best known of which is the annual Arts Trail. Some of these events, including the Arts Trail require you to be a member of the SBA before you can participate.
Even if you don't want to, or can't participate in any of these events, there are several benefits of being a member of the SBA, including receiving useful and informative newsletters and having an account on the SBA website, which allows you to post information about yourself and your art, news of exhibitions, etc. and web log (blog) entries whenever you like.
Please see the Member benefits page for more details of the benefits of being an SBA member.
To register to become an SBA member, you should fill in the documents listed on the Downloads and documents page.
The SBA would also like to hear from anyone who would like to help run any aspects of the organisation itself, or any part of the Arts Trail or other events. Joining SBA teams to help out with the running of the organisation or events can be very rewarding and gives artists and others a chance to meet people and get involved in interesting ventures around Bristol. Some tasks require artistic abilities, many do not, so don't feel that you have to be an artist to join up. Any skills you can bring to the organisation will be gratefully received and there is a chance to learn and practise new skills, get experience and get something to write on your CV!
Please do come along to any of the monthly meetings (or special meetings like the annual general meeting) if you’d like to know more about being part of the organisation. The dates, times and locations of the meetings can be found on the SBA Calendar, usually well in advance of the meetings taking place.
The eighth Southbank Bristol Arts Trail will take place on 8 and 9 May 2010. You need to register as member of the SBA each year to join in with the Arts Trail.
To join in with this event, you will need to fill in an SBA membership form. The form, and more information, can be found on the Downloads and documents page.
The registration fee also gives you several other benefits, as described above and on the Member benefits page.
The registration fee for becoming a member of the SBA remains at £15 for 2009/2010, as long as you sign up by 31 January 2010. If you have any queries, please email communication@sbaweb.co.uk.
