Southbank Bristol Arts

This is an opportunity for contemporary artists to exhibit and sell a range of artworks at Broadwalk Arts.

Broadwalk Arts are looking for all types of artwork including, but not limited to: multiples, prints, photography, jewellery, artists’ books, glassware, ceramics and painting.

Work will be displayed using a selection of shelves, plinths and wall fixings. Each day, work will be moved around, with new works replacing those which have been sold, creating a constantly changing exhibition.

The exhibition will take place from 14 December 2009 to 2 January 2010.

To submit work please send the following:

• Up to 10 images of recent/relevant work, preferably in digital format. Please use jpeg format, and keep the images under 500 kB.
• Details of the medium and dimensions of your work. If you want to exhibit works which have yet to be made, please send images of some similar work, with written details of what you intend to make.
• A short artist's statement (approx 100 words).
• Address, telephone number and email address.

Contracts: All successful artists will be asked to sign an exhibition contract and provide details of the exact works to be exhibited before they arrive at the gallery. Further details regarding this will be sent out to exhibiting artists. As many works as you like may be sent to the gallery, although they will not necessarily all be exhibited at once.

Delivery and collection of artworks: Due to the number of artists expected to participate, all exhibiting artists will need to be responsible for both delivery and collection of their work.

Selling and commission: The price that the artist provides is the selling price. The gallery will take a 30% commission on this price. A record will be kept throughout the exhibition of works which have been sold by each artist. At the end of the exhibition, all the amounts will be totalled together, and each artist will be sent a cheque for the total, minus commission.

Marketing and publicity: Some exhibiting artists will be contacted individually to provide print quality images of their work for publicity purposes.
